Our Programs

Our Goal and Mission

B.A.B.E.S., Inc. Child Abuse Prevention Program provides family strengthening services to young parents up to the age of 27. All programs are offered at no cost. Registered program participants enage in their development as parents, through the Strengthening Families Services.

With this evidence-based parent education program, parents learn to meet children where they are, to understand approriate age behaviors, and to ignore or address certain behaviors. Children learn to improve communication skills, to create good behaviors, and to develop their coping and problem solving skills.

All program participants are required to complete the Strengthening Families curriculum (adopted from the Strengthening Families Program) as a proven strategy to build a stronger family unit. As part of the curriculum, families eat a meal together at the start of each class, to enjoy fellowship and build community with each other.

Active program participants are eligible to receive Economic, Educational, and Emotional Wellness support services from B.A.B.E.S., Inc.

B.A.B.E.S., Inc. has helped me in so many positive ways since leaving my domestic abuser in 2020 and moving up to the Fox Valley area as a single mom. They make me feel like I’m not alone by always being understanding and there to help me. [They have also] helped me financially! It is hard being a single mom and having to pay for all the bills and other necessities. – M. L.

B.A.B.E.S., Inc. gave me a sense of community; I don’t feel lonely anymore! I have people who are there for me. I feel safe again. I have a place to go. B.A.B.E.S. is a safe place. I can breathe again. I can breathe. I don’t know how I would be without this help. I am no longer sinking, I am floating. – Kagen

B.A.B.E.S., Inc. has provided me with a support network of caring individuals. I feel like they genuinely care about my daughter and I. I am grateful for all that is offered through B.A.B.E.S. Care and diaper packages lift such a huge financial burden off my shoulders. It’s one less thing to worry about each month. – Marimar

At B.A.B.E.S., Inc. Child Abuse Prevention Program, our volunteers are the backbone of what we do. We count on them to fill roles throughout our organization. This includes everything from teachers’ helpers in our respite care to facilitators in our Strengthening Families Workshops to assisting with cleaning and other light office duties. In addition to these ongoing roles, we also count on volunteers for special events throughout the year including our annual fundraiser, Holiday Workshops, and other special events.

No one has ever become poor by giving

In 2015, there were 4,697 reported cases of child abuse in Wisconsin alone. B.A.B.E.S., Inc. was established for the sole purpose of child abuse prevention and the provision of stress alleviation for young families. Our services are provided on a no-cost, non-judgemental, first come, first served basis. With your financial support we can improve the quality of life for local families and continue to prevent incidents of child abuse in the Fox Valley.
