Starting Point 2.0, Diaper Bank, Care Packages

“I had started my first semester of college to get my welding degree, and I was still adjusting to balancing being the best mom for my son and building my career.”

Starting Point 2.0 helped Skylar find a balance between being the best mom and the best student. Starting Point helped me build skills I didn’t have and to sharpen skills I already had.”

Skylar was first introduced to B.A.B.E.S. when she enrolled in the Starting Point 2.0 Program in the Fall of 2018 and has been a program participant ever since. Starting Point 2.0 is a free class taught in conjunction with B.A.B.E.S. and Fox Valley Technical College. This class teaches young mothers financial planning skills, empowerment, and career planning that will lead to further education and/or a new career.

Skylar also utilized Diaper Bank for her son and Care Packages that were offered. “The Diaper Bank was a lifesaver when my son would run through a sleeve of diapers in 3 days. Care Packages are also a huge help so I can allocate my money towards big purchases.” Skylar will be able to save her money for gas, food, bills, and anything else she may need.
