“I started my journey with B.A.B.E.S. in August of 2017. I contemplated calling for months. I was worried about what it would say about me; how people would judge me for calling a child abuse prevention center. My husband had been gone for 6 months already on an overseas deployment. I wondered why I was struggling so much with our three kids at home by myself.”
“I started with weekly respite care for our three children. The staff at B.A.B.E.S. helped me realize all of the hardships I was shouldering alone. Not long after, I started seeking a counselor for Skill-Building Sessions to work on myself and my parenting. I felt like I was on a steady incline to a better place for me and my family.”
Ms. Crosno participated in the launch of the Starting Point 2.0 Program Fall of 2017. “I felt like I had some control over my life and where it was going. I even continued on and completed a college prep course at FVTC courtesy of the Women’s Fund. When Pastor Mahnie asked if I would think about committing to another pilot program, it was a no brainer!”
This mother of three also participated in the pilot phase of the B.A.B.E.S., Inc. Strengthening Families Program. “I started the program about two months before my husband came home from a second deployment, and he immediately jumped into the curriculum. With both of us on the same page and our kids learning their own part of the program, our home life is unquestionably better. I fell an immense amount of pride knowing how far we’ve come, and I feel confident in the future. B.A.B.E.S. has stood by my family, and we will forever be thankful.”
